Can I get Twitter’s Flash Widget into my sidebar?
-
I want to use Twitter’s Flash Widget in my sidebar but I don’t know how to. Is there anyway I can do this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Unfortunately Flash is tripped out for security reasons. You can however use the Twitter Widget that can be found at Appearance > Widgets in your dashboard.

Well, some Flash widgets are trusted, like Box.net. Perhaps WP would consider adding the Twitter Flash as a trusted widget?

It would be nice if they would add it. It looks MUCH better than WP’s bare bones options….style, baby.

Agreed – the lack of Flash/Java is so freakin’ irritating and wastes a ton of time for things that could take two seconds if automated. Grrrr…

@ presto211 When I was running The Journalist Theme the Twitter widget wasn’t the prettiest thing. However, recently I switched theme to P2 now and I’ve reinstated the Twitter widget and presentation is a lot nicer http://shimworld.wordpress.com/ (goes to show themes make a difference).

is there any way to customize the twitter widget? or does it depend on what theme you use how it appears?
I’ve seen some uses of the widget that have bullets in front of every tweet, much more readable.
thanks, rani

There is no way to customize the twitter widget, but different themes will display it slightly differently, due to their CSS overrides. Custom CSS can also make minor changes, but they apply to ALL the widgets, not just the Twitter one.
